Hanging out at home

I flew home to Ann Arbor this weekend, and it has been a pretty relaxing weekend, despite being rather short. I managed to catch up on some much needed sleep. Last night, I watched the movie Charlie Bartlett with my roommate. It was pretty funny, in a very Gen Y-ish sort of way. This afternoon, the weather was a beautiful eighty-five degrees, and I went out for my usual run along the Gallup Park Trail. The run was a little more eventful than normal. Some college girls in a canoe capsized and filled their canoe with water, and had no idea how to make it shipshape again. I waded into the water and helped them empty the water out of their canoe, and got them on their way again.

I fly back to DC tomorrow morning, and it will probably be a few weeks before I can make it back to Michigan. August is looking like it will be a fairly busy month.

Ann Arbor Vacation

I have been spending this week in Ann Arbor, and have been having a wonderful vacation. I have been splitting my time between taking care of my to-do list (like going to the dentist, getting my car repaired, etc.) and spending my time in classic summer vacation style - a long run at Gallup Park, bicycling to Dexter for "guilt-free" ice cream at Dairy Queen, eating out with friends in downtown Ann Arbor, and grilling up burgers. I'm hoping that I'll get in some more bike rides, and maybe a trip to the pool.

I have to drive back to Virginia on Sunday, and it is approaching way too quickly. I feel like a kid saying, "I want to stay out and play some more!"
