Chelsea Ride

Huron River Drive

Today's adventure was a 42.5 mile bike ride out to Chelsea and back. Ordinarily, a ride to Chelsea isn't that much of an adventure, but today's temperature of 100 degrees broke the record 99 degrees set in 1988, and that made the ride more challenging than usual. At times, it felt like I was riding into a hair-dryer, and occasional humid patches near the river turned the ride into a sauna. Still, notwithstanding the heat, it was a beautiful day. Despite a forecast that called for a mostly cloudy day, for most of my ride there were no clouds in the sky. From the tree-lined portions of Huron River Drive, to the corn-fields surrounding Dexter-Chelsea Road, Michigan is absolutely gorgeous in the summer, and today was no exception.
